Once you have found a position you wish to apply for, you need to make sure your application does you justice and provides you with the best possible chance of getting an interview. This means reading the job description and taking time over your application demonstrating your skills and experience.

Read the instructions within the advertisement and application form very carefully and make sure that you complete all the sections of the application form. The information you give in the ‘covering letter’ section will be used to decide if you should be shortlisted for interview.

If you are successfully called for an interview, it might appear obvious, but it’s important that you prepare for the interview.

  • Make sure you are familiar with the job description
  • Remind yourself of what you wrote in your application on how you met those requirements.
  • Think about what type of questions will be asked about yourself and write down some thoughts on how you might answer them.
  • Prepare some questions to ask the panel, as we said before, your interview is a two way process and we welcome questions!
